An Inside Look

As part of this endeavor, we were fortunate to create a partnership with the The Funky Uncle, an amazing organization which has raised over $780K for our local music community. This wonderful organization produced weekly live-streamed performances of our local musicians throughout the depths of pandemic. With 100% of support going directly to artists and gig workers to help them survive, The Funky Uncle has helped over 850 professionals in our music community. And their mission continues to this day. We are grateful from the bottom of our hearts for everything this organization has done, along with the support and collaboration on the New Orleans Musicians Project.

The good people at the world-famous Tipitina’s have given us lots of support with these episodes to-date, opening their doors (gladly) during a time when there was no music. Their crew helped with lots of logistics, from working the sound board, setting up the stage and dusting off the backline which was necessary for production of two of these episodes to-date.

We must also give a sincere thanks to our wonderful partners at New Orleans Video Productions. They have dedicated dozens of hours to this project and we cannot thank them enough for their passion, enthusiasm and professionalism as we’ve continued to build this project.

And to our amazing interviewer, Leslie Cooper, who is a true expert on all things New Orleans, particularly music and all of the players involved. Leslie brings a plethora of knowledge and relationships with the musicians and gig workers, from the ground, the stage and in-studio.
